I am sooooooo excited about this episode because of the “girl talk” aspect. Here you have the taping of the latest episode of “The Fresh”, in pictures, where I sit down with author Jennifer Tardy and chat about her book “His Ingredient Label-A Woman’s Guide to Recognizing a Junk Food Man”. I was most excited to shoot this episode because I was anxious to sit down with someone who had seriously started a campaign for “healthy relationships” AND because of the location of this shoot. People all over, wherever I go it seems, are always inquiring about my body art. If I had a nickel for every time someone asked, “Who does your tattoos”, I could give my corporate job the finger. So imagine my enthusiasm when FU’s Custom Tattoos accepted our offer to tape this latest episode of “The Fresh” from the art gallery attached to the tattoo parlor called BAKU Gallery. This art gallery features different genres and types of art each month and proceeds from the sale go to benefit different charities. This month’s proceeds were going to benefit the Carolina Raptor Center…DOPE!

I LOVE this track. I loved it even before the actual video was released. The video makes the track, for me, that much more interesting because Monica poses a question that I am sure most of us have been faced with before. We all have been in love with someone, but for whatever reason, you and that person could not bridge a union based off of that love. So time passes and you, and more than likely the other party as well, have fallen in love with someone new. Well, what happens when that past love resurfaces….for whatever reason? What happens if you discover that the past is not really in the past, and you both agree that the feelings you have for each other are real? What about the new love you have found? What would you do???
So my girls and I got into a heated discussion about “giving it up” after the first date. It seems as though the rules of engagement while dating have changed dramatically. I am a single woman/mother, and I will admit that my dates are far and few in between, so I may be out of practice and not really current in the “rules of dating”. But I have learned through conversations and the situations of others that it is acceptable to have sex with that person you may have just had your first date with. Now I am not clueless to the fact that this goes on often, but I did not realize that it was accepted into the mainstream like reality television.
The “Face-Off” is a recurring series where opposing sides debate hot topics. I love a great debate, and this is one great debate. I am not even going to tease it or summarize it for you all. I want you to watch and weigh in. Panelists include Sherri Shepherd, Hill Harper, Steve Harvey, and Jimi Izrael.
So I have not done this in a while, but it is Friday and I am feeling a little frisky…lol!
