Streets of the QC with Waxwun…..

In preparations for the upcoming series The Fresh coming on July 5, Gezee and I got with the fellas from Waxwun for a guerilla style photo shoot in Uptown Charlotte. No stone went unturned in our efforts to find the most appealing scenes exploring alleyways and trying to avoid being seen by police lol (we may have been in a couple restricted areas). But when it was all said and done, the result was just another aspect to look forward to on 7/5, debut of The Fresh, first installment featuring Waxwun owners and artists, Flaymz and Sinful, directed by Bestram Productions and produced by Gezee Roze`, and make sure you stay tuned for the Maz Mansion Party recap coming real soon……dope

Moments of Mike
I decided to so a post of random “Moments of Mike”. I loved Mike from the time he was with Jackson 5 through his career as a soloist. I must admit though I loved him most when he was a young boy singing those soulful tracks with that high-pitched soprano vocal. How could someone so young sing a song like that?? And make everyone believe it? Phenominal. But Mike, as a child and as an adult, was the ultimate entertainer! ENJOY!
1 year later…still loved, still missed, still the King of Pop
As people across the country pay their respects to a man who has influenced the culture of music and challenged our morals and ideals about mankind, I find myself feeling sadden by the fact that Michael Jackson actually is gone. This man’s talent was undisputable, but most importantly his heart was truly genuine. To have lost someone as real as Michael Jackson is sad because people of his kind are rare. He gave so much of himself to the world and was a selfless individual. His ability to unify people, nations across the world, and unify music in general was impeccable and will be truly missed. The scrutiny he suffered through was the price he paid just for being him. I would venture to say that Michael Jackson was an angel placed here to teach us all a valuable lesson about humanity, our environment, and empathy as well as humility towards mankind. I hope we all reflect back on his life today and pay attention.
Photo of the Day: The Art-Rav Bridge

Preparations are in order for this weekends upcoming festivities (Maz Mansion party, multiple shoots) but yesterday, while going to sell a piece of equipment I hadn’t been using I met Mike, a biker riding, ponytail sporting fella who reminded me of Kato Kalin from the OJ trial. Mike was a self described photography addict and the lens I was selling was his “fix” for the week. Following the exchange, Mike told me he was going to take a few photos of the bridge and told me to grab my tripod and come along. What resulted was this shot, among others and by the way…….Mike was cool enough to load Photoshop onto my computer, just for the hell of it. That oughta save a couple bucks (about $500), don’t you think? Moral of the story: nothing happens by accident. Shouts out to Mike for the hookup……dope
Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill 2010 (Revealing photos)

Yesterday, I mentioned spotting some riveting pictures on ABCNews.com via the Associated Press in reference to the oil spill situation/tragedy in the Gulf. The photos I found were truly breath-taking, thought provoking, and just plain sad. You never know what-is-what just by listening to the coverage on television, and you most certainly cannot get the CEO of BP to confirm or deny ANYTHING. But these photos tell it all. Below are some of the most graphic photos I came across and trust me, there is more to come.
Seventy Five…..

For those of you that may be confused about the photo of my thermostat and it’s significance, don’t be alarmed. It’s just a random observation. With that said, I was recently watching an episode of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm featuring a hilarious dialogue between LD and Vivica Fox’s character in which Larry complains about the house being too hot and requesting that they keep the thermostat at 68 degrees, a temperature which sparked the same reaction out of both me and Vivica, shear disbelief. This was followed by the entering of JB Smoove’s character Leon exclaiming how he’s a “78-82 man himself” (a bit excessive but hilarious) and 68 degrees is a tad bit too fridget. While being completely random, I began to think about how many disputes I’ve had over the years in regards to room temperature and came to the conclusion that I’m “a 75 man, myself”. You can participate in this “pseudo focus group” by simply leaving a comment with your ideal temperature. Let me know what works for yall……dope
