The kid Lupe Fiasco returns with the first single, I perceive, from his upcoming third album We Are Lasers. The joint is crazy with Lupe even flexing the golden pipes. Everybody is trying to add a little singing to their arsenal. What I really dig about this track is that he’s still lyrical even though it’s a club record….gotta love that. I think Lupe could possibly be an elite in the game if he makes the right moves. As for the track….definitely dope.

New Money……the Redesign of the C-Note

In case you haven’t heard, the US is planning on releasing a new redesigned one-hundred dollar bill in 2011 equipped with all kinds of anti-counterfitting 3-D graphics and a bit of color added to the original. The new design is receiveing mixed reviews from designers and critics. My personal opinion is, you can slap a smiliy face on it and have finger paint spelling the words…..$100 dollars is still $100 dollars. As a matter of fact, I prefer my money as ugly and stankin as possible. Either way, it’s definitely something that’ll affect us all so when the bank hands you that new crisp hundred, make sure you can recognize it……dope.

Style: Wifebeater and Jeans…..My Summer Uniform

Do you have a “summer uniform”? I do…it’s a wifebeater and jeans!!! Never did I realize that I possessed this uniform until today when I read another one of my favorite blogs. In a recent post, the writer noted that her closet staple or summer uniform is her double U-Neck dress from American Apparel noting how she strives to have one in every color and finds herself rocking in on a regular basis. At the end of the post, she asked her readers what is their staple. Well, this made me begin to think… I thought and thought and could not think of a particular one item that I would wear over and over again, but in different ways. What item can my wardrobe not exist without? Then I walked past a mirror and it hit me, there is no one single item, but two: a white t-shirt or ribbed tank (AKA wifebeater) and jeans! I find myself in this combination ALL the time, whether I’m chilling on a lazy afternoon, running weekend errand, or visiting one of my favorite night spots.

Katie Washington- Notre Dame’s first black valedictorian
Here is some news that you won’t see broadcasted all over the television or online, but is, to me, just as news worthy as some of the things we see from the media. Meet the Fresh, being a form of media, gladly takes on the task of letting the people know what’s going on out there whether it is mainstream or not, so I am proud to be one of the few outlets that has shed light on this historical achievement.
Bobcats’ Playoff 2010 Recap
Although the Bobcats sealed their fate with last night’s loss and are out of the Playoffs, I still want to celebrate them making history with this post.
Shoutout to DJ Complete for the Bobcats’ Playoff remix!! I am going to try to get up with him so we can chat about the Playoffs from his perspective and find out more about him as a DJ.
