DJ Paradime credits his sister and other friends for his love and passion for music. Paradime was introduced to the art of deejaying at a young age in high school, and what started out as a hobby using an old pair of belt driven Audiovox turntables grew quickly into a career as a professional DJ.
In time, he upgraded his equipment and begain to practice complex battle routines which were strongly influenced by the X-Men and Invisble Scratch Piklz videos. DJ Paradime looked to DJ MC, DJ Flash (of Little Brother), and DJ Skillz as his mentors and together they would practice scratching, beatjuggling, and acrobatics. Paradime learned through them the importance of establishing individuality and a uniqueness in such a competive industry.
After mastering the art of deejaying, he began to accompany DJ MC and DJ Skillz to multiple parties all along the east coast. Paradime got his foot planted in the RDU deejaying scene by deejaying parties and hip hop shows. Once the buzz started getting out about this new DJ, Paradime started learning about other aspects of the craft such as mix tapes, battling, and parties. After doing local hiphop shows, Paradime met new artists and became friends with a local MC named Sean Boog of The Away Team/The Justus League. After gaining recognition through their shows, they were able to go on tour with hip hop group Little Brother and Hall of Justus, where they asked Paradime to be the official DJ for The Away Team, solidifying his career as a DJ and laying the foundation for future success.
Today, Paradime has over five years of experience, deejaying all across the U.S. in cities including Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. He has deejayed at the biggest Asian Student Association college parties with over 700 people in attendance. With 10 mix tapes under his producing belt, Paradime truly prides in the fact that his mix tapes are not pause tapes as he actually puts a lot of work into these tapes. These mix tapes have been circulating everywhere from magazine reviews to the hands of veterans in the industry while gaining the respect of all who come across them.
DJ Paradime’s most recent attribute is his participation in CIAA 2010, deejaying various parties from MAZ Entertainment’s “Frenzy” at Bank of America Founder’s Hall to the Whisky River w/ Baby From Cash Money and Bow Wow party brought to the Queen City by Inner Circle Entertainment (I was at both parties, and trust me when I say it went ALL the way down! DJ Paradime on the 1′s and 2′s is no joke…ask my feet!). Here is commentary from DJ Paradime, taken straight from his blog called weareyourheroes.com referencing his experiences during CIAA:
Friday @ Founders Hall- Bank Of America
With MAZ Entertainment. + Dj Pyro
Had to be at least 3000+ in attendance, partying hard, the atmosphere
and the venue were incredible and the women were unbelievable. Played
everything from Jukebox heroes remixes to Wale.
Saturday Day Party- BlackFinns- The Epicenter
with Culture 19
The day party was crazy just because when I got there at 12 to setup,
people were already lined up. First two hours classic and new RnB and
Soul…. Everything from Carlita Durand to En Vogue… Last two hours
were smash time, running thru mashing out jams. Honestly it was crazy
to see people partying in the sun. Straight dope. I highly doubt
anyone from this party made it to a night party. But I did…
On to the next one…
Saturday Night- Whisky River w/ Baby From Cash Money and Bow Wow
Inner Circle Entertainment
I sat down for 3 hours just to get back up and mash out once
again. You woulda figured people would have been burned out….nope
9:30 and it was almost at capacity. The club and atmosphere was so
crazy I had Creative Silence come along for the ride and highlight the
night with dope camera angle shots. The Women were incredible and the
mood was hype!
DJ Paradime also just got back from Miami, FL for the “Ocean Drive Tour” where he deejayed for various parties during Spring Break (I know that was off the chain).
