Fashion: Nom De Guerre Sping/Summer 2010 Line

For those of you who aren’t up on Nom De Guerre quite yet, allow me to educate you. Nom De Guerre(French for “names of war”) is a New York based clothing brand that combines basic and diverse influences from art, fashion and various New York City subcultures to create their products. There designs are very creative and theme inspired. The Spring/Summer 2010 line is based on an examination of political oppresion, rebellion, and circumvention as illustrated by the colonization of Algeria and the resulting Algerian War(deep). The designs represent a theme of civilian clothing worn in a uniform fashion, combined with uniform inspired clothing. I’m really loving this collection and look forward to seeing more from Nom De Guerre. Just when I thought fashion was getting a bit boring, brands are beginning to step their game up. Check out some pieces from their new 2010 Spring/Summer line.
Footwear: Sorel Boots

There’s a new face in the Moccasin industry and they’re vying for a spot amongst brands like Red Wing and L.L. Bean with their quality made weather boots. Sorel is getting lots of positive feedback from the Reserve (pictured above), made from Bison leather and the flashier 1G (pictured below), made from Ostrich leather. Also shown is the women’s Tivoli boots….definitely dope. The 1G is Sorel’s most exclusive and premium release to date, sure to strike up a lot of conversation among boot enthusiasts while the Reserve is a more recent shoe with a more practical style. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more from Sorel. Step your shoe game up………
